My name is Sally Jaquet and I am a Leith-based community musician and performer who believes music is for everyone. My projects include vocal and songwriting teaching, music & wellbeing workshops for school groups, businesses, choir leading, and music research and arts projects evaluation. I am always open and enthusiastic to collaborate with other musicians and local organisations on community projects

SING SONG SUPPER CLUB 🌻 Tonight @ewanmacintyreband will be playing some stunning tunes with an array of talented musicians at Junction Street Vision Mechanics, & me and the delightful Caro will be joining him for a couple! Tickets can be found in his bio - it'll be a folky delight!

Playing with this incredible all-gal @kat.brooks.music band at @thejazzbar last month for International Women's Day was SO MUCH FUN. Kat Brooks and her gals (including Adam) are back again tonight at Brewhemia - come on down and support live music in Edinburgh!

Still reeling off of a DELISH few days with the Butts, writing and recording in Manchester! Wondrous engineer @thomasfripp working on the mix and getting to do a gorge wee trial of our tunes at the amazing @whiskeyjarnq with @joebagpipes ! My reel is POORLY edited I tell you but I hope you enjoy the end with a lamenting rendition of Paulo's Rewind when we found out the Jazz Bar was closing and didn't know what to do but drunkenly wail together some harmonies

Today is the @lovemusicscot concert at the @usherhall 💜! We have 4 gorgeous tunes that they will perform, all based around the theme of "truth-seekers" & I am SO proud of them all! It is ALSO BB's 9th birthday 🪱! I'm so honoured to get to have incredible experiences like conducting at the Usher Hall, and here - I wouldn't be around to do that without life-saving surgery like getting my stoma! I love my wee stoma and the freedom and confidence she's given me. As always if anyone knows folk going through something like UC, potentially getting surgery, and need a chat - send em my way as I'm so happy to talk about it!

Och I had the loveliest afternoon with the beautiful @disc_jocelyne chatting about music from our childhood, the influences our parents had on us, the beauty and challenges of community music, as well as the 1997 phenomena Hercules 💪 Tracks from this session include some Kate rusby, Ella Fitzgerald, and Alabama 3! Some gorgeous pics from the amazing @nikikingmusic show 2 weeks ago at the @queens_hall ! What an epic band of musicians including @paulgilbodymusic @sualeecello @akiremally @mat.clements @stubrowndrums @brianmolleyjazz @alinahipharp and many more - it was an absolute privilege to get to sing and dance with them all and feel the "everlasting energy of love!" 💜 The fact that so much of Niki's music is written for and with her family meant it was extra lovely that mum and dad got to be there too - they've played countless gigs on stages across Edinburgh so it's pretty dreamy to follow in their footsteps! 📷 Kat Gollock, Su-a and Tish!
